Speech By Mrs. Olufunmilola Mutiat Disu 23rd National President, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA)
I stand before you with a heart overflowing with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. As I assume the leadership of this noble association, I am reminded that POWA is much more than a social body; we are the backbone behind the badge and the silent strength behind the uniform. Our mission for 2026 and beyond is clear: we are moving from intention to alliance. Through our POWA CARES initiative, we are institutionalizing compassion. We are not just providing one-off donations; we are building a sustainable architecture of support that ensures every police wife is economically empowered, every police child is academically supported, and every widow is never left to walk alone. To my sisters in the barracks across all 36 states and the FCT, I say this: your resilience is our inspiration. Whether it is through our nationwide healthcare outreaches, our vocational training centers, or our nursing scholarship funds, this administration is committed to your total well-being. The police officer protects the nation, but the police officer’s wife preserves the home. Together, through unity and faith, we are securing the future of the Nigeria Police Force family. Join us as we work to make a measurable impact, one family at a time.
Support the POWA CARES fund to provide ₦50,000 business grants and vital medical aid to widows and families in the barracks.
Partner with us in our medical outreaches and educational programs to support the wives and children of those who serve.
"I stand before you with a heart overflowing with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. POWA is much more than a social body; we are the backbone behind the badge! We are the silent strength behind the uniform."
